Social Value

Creating Lasting Social Value: Making a Difference in Our Communities

24 August, 2026

At our organisation, social value isn’t a separate initiative, it’s part of who we are. We believe that success is measured not only by the services we deliver but also by the positive impact we have on the people and communities around us.

Over the past year, we’ve been proud to support a wide range of initiatives focused on education, employability, community wellbeing, and charitable giving. By working closely with schools, colleges, universities, charities, and local organisations, we’re helping to create opportunities that make a real difference.

Developing the next generation is one of our key priorities. Throughout the year, we’ve worked with educational institutions across the region to give students valuable insight into the world of work and help prepare them for their future careers.

Our team has been involved in:

  • Delivering Year 11 mock interviews at St Edmund’s to help students build confidence and interview skills.
  • Supporting careers events at Hillside Primary School in both 2025 and 2026, inspiring young people to think about future career opportunities.
  • Participating in careers and advice days and the STEM Festival at West Lancashire College.
  • Taking part in the St Edmund’s Speed Networking Event, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with professionals.
  • Providing work experience opportunities for high school students.
  • Welcoming Edge Hill University placement students into our business to gain real-world industry experience.

We also continue to strengthen our partnerships with both Edge Hill University and West Lancashire College through collaborative projects that give students practical learning opportunities.

Collaboration with higher education remains an important part of our social value commitment.

We’ve supported the Edge Hill University E-MERGE Project, including speaking at the showcase event, and delivered a live business brief for first-year Digital Marketing students, allowing them to work on real business challenges.

These partnerships help bridge the gap between education and employment while giving students invaluable commercial experience.

Creating stronger communities means supporting the organisations that support others.

We’re proud to have:

  • Supported the Wigan & Leigh Hospice Ball.
  • Taken part in the Teenage Cancer Trust Ball.
  • Supported the Bereavement Café Lunch, helping provide a welcoming space for members of the community.
  • Donated Christmas gifts to a local college, ensuring underprivileged students received a gift during the festive season.
  • Supported Woodlands Animal Sanctuary and the important work they do for vulnerable animals.

Every community initiative, whether through fundraising, donations, or volunteering our time, contributes to making our local area a better place to live and work.

We recognise that creating social value is most effective when organisations work together.

Our team has participated in the Skelmersdale Ambassadors panel discussion, sharing knowledge and supporting conversations around local growth and development.

We’re also proud signatories of the Lancashire Skills Pledge, demonstrating our commitment to investing in people, supporting skills development, and strengthening the local workforce.

In addition, we’ve had the privilege of judging both the Wigan Business Awards and The Freshies Awards, celebrating innovation, achievement, and excellence across our region.

Our social value journey is ongoing. Every partnership we build, every student we support, and every community initiative we take part in strengthens our commitment to making a positive difference.

As we continue to grow, we’ll keep investing in education, supporting charities, collaborating with local organisations, and creating opportunities that benefit our communities.

We would like to thank every school, college, university, charity, business partner, and community organisation we’ve worked with over the past year. Together, we’re creating opportunities, inspiring future generations, and building a lasting legacy that extends far beyond the workplace.
